WASCZ Primary Bake Sale

On Monday 6th June, four representatives from Grade 5 from each of the twelve houses in WASCZ Primary descended on the basketball court to begin decorating their tables ahead of the annual Primary Bake Sale.

With pupils bringing in a variety of cakes, cookies and other baked goods to sell on their house stall, some of the decorations on show were superb, drawing the eye of pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 5 as they walked around the court looking for their next yummy treat!

Some of the teachers were very impressed with the business skills of some of the Grade 5 pupils on the stalls, haggling for the best deals to ensure their house would make the most money.

The Bake Sale was run as a house competition this year, with whichever house who raised the most money for the Changzhou Orphanage being award a grand total of 100 House Points to add to their Summer Term total.

A grand total of over 13,500 was raised on the day, and in Friday’s celebration assembly, Hawking and Cavell Houses were announced as the boys’ and girls’ winners respectively, in what was a very close run contest between all the houses. Well done to all involved on what another extremely successful Primary Bake Sale!
