Children’s Book Week 2017

Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of children’s books and reading. Established in 1919, it is the longest-running national literacy initiative.

On Friday 3rd March, Kindergarten and Primary had special assemblies celebrating our annual book week. Part of this was the pupils and staff dressing up as their favorite book characters.

With Prizes awarded to several pupils for best look alike, funniest. Some of our winners included, Pippi Longstocking, The Big Friendly Giant (BFG), Tin Tin and Curious George.

The fun continued for the children as teachers acted out the story “The three Little Pigs”. Mrs. Brooks (who played the Big Bad Wolf) left the pupils in hysterical laughter as she gobbled up the pigs in search of more food.

This week also saw the school host the Obido Book Fair. Giving our pupils the opportunity to update their own reading collection with new and exciting titles.
