Primary Rugby finishes the year with a bang!

The final WAIS Primary rugby tournament of the year took place in Shanghai this past weekend.

For many U11’s it was their last tournament as primary pupils as next year they will be competing with older pupils in the U13’s.

After some dominant performances, particularly against old rivals, the French school from Shanghai, the team went undefeated and winning the first prize. Playing tough, physical rugby, the boys capped off a truly remarkable season, scoring plenty of tries and making some huge tackles too!

The U9 team showed that the future is bright for Primary rugby, as many of the pupils who will make up the bulk of the U11 team next season have now had a full season of contact rugby under their belts. The U9’s came away with the second place trophy, scoring tries in every game and winning all but one.

Both teams showed great skill and sportsmanship on and off the pitch.

All the coaches are so proud of both teams and wish them the best of luck for next year!
