Summer Term Primary and Secondary Music Recitals

The Summer Term and final instalment of this years’ Music Recitals were the busiest yet, with a total of 456 performances taking place.

As is now expected our Primary and Secondary musicians performed to fellow pupils and members of the staff common room. For some the recital performances served as a mock examination for the upcoming ABRSM examinations. It is truly remarkable to see the progress each pupil has made within the academic year.

These invaluable performance opportunities help WAIS pupils to develop good practice habits. As a successful performance cannot be attained at the last moment. It takes many weeks of preparation, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an advanced player.

As the summer holiday approaches, it is important that pupils plan ahead with their instrumental teachers so to ensure they are ready for September. The recital certificates will be presented through Classroom Teachers (Primary) and House Masters/Mistresses (Secondary).

My thanks and congratulations go to all our musicians, who along with the instrumental teachers have made this academic year simply brilliant.
