Learning about Responsibilities in WASCZ Primary

Pupils from the Tuna Fish Class will no doubt be very familiar with this image after this week, which is from the second unit of our Everybody Up 6 Student Book. We have looked at this image of family life and talked about whose responsibility it is to do what within a family.

The pupils began by thinking about what the responsibilities of their parents and teachers are as well as reflecting on their own responsibilities.

After some work in class where the pupils separated sentence cards into piles according to whose responsibility it is to do what in their lives, the pupils then relocated to the open space of the KG activity hall where in groups of seven they practiced a bit of role play, enacting different family members and explaining what their corresponding responsibility is within the family. After each group performed their sketch in front of the other two groups, the pupils then returned to the classroom to complete some sentence-writing exercises from the textbook about the differences between parents’ and pupil's responsibilities.
