Following the closure of the school campus because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Wycombe Abbey has now been back open for a number of weeks now, and Primary PE classes have resumed once again!
It has been wonderful to see all of the children back looking happy and healthy after being away from school for approximately 13 weeks! A number of boys in different Grades were sporting new shaved hair cuts due to the hairdressers being closed and a number of other pupils had hit a slight growth spurt during the lockdown period. One thing is for sure though, they all seemed extremely happy to be back among their friends in the environment they know and love.
For the first week back, our PE classes took a slightly different approach and decided to take inspiration from the world-famous board game Monopoly. Human PE Monopoly is very like the board game as they used large foam dice, they worked their way around the ‘board’, played for fake money in the form of PhysEd Dollars, went to ‘jail’ and even had opportunities to win extra fake money by being nice to the teachers (children will do anything for money it seems!)
It was tremendous fun to watch as the pupils worked in small teams, doing the exercises together and helping each other around the board in the hot Summer Term sunshine!
