WASCZ Sports Summer Course WEEK 3

It was another fun and successful week on the Summer Sports Course with a number of new pupils joining us from both Changzhou and Nanjing. Once again, we added a new selection of sports which included Dodgeball and complex disciplines from Athletics (High Jump and Shot Putt). Numbers for the week were just shy of 60, which enabled staff to provide more 1 to 1 support during both the sporting activities and English classes.

Those pupils who have been fortunate to join us for the duration of the course have shown huge improvements over the past 3 weeks, with them now being exposed to a number of sessions from each sport, allowing progression and understanding of each sport to take place. This has been further supported in the classroom, where tactics, positions and rules have been learnt, which has also had a direct benefit to performance. For those joining us for the first time, they were provided with the necessary support and fast-tracked to reach a similar level of performance as their peers throughout the course of the week which allowed them to attain outstanding results upon the completion of the week.

Finally as we move towards the conclusion of the Summer Sports Course this coming week, it has incredible to see the enjoyment of the children’s faces throughout the past 3 weeks. As staff we have thoroughly enjoyed working with children of all different abilities and have cherished the opportunity to work with and develop the levels of performance, English ability but most importantly the self-esteem of every pupil in our care.
