WASCZ Start of Term 2020

The academic year started on Monday 24th August for new and returning teachers.

The start of term training, referred to as INSET provided the Headmaster with an opportunity to thank colleagues who supported the outstanding achievements at GCSE and A Level in 2020. With 23% of the pupils at GCSE receiving 5 or more A** - A Grades and our Upper Sixth pupils departing to world famous Universities there was much to praise.

The welcome address also enabled the Headmaster to share news of internal and external staff promotions whilst setting out the Schools aims and aspirations for the 2020/21 academic year.

Academic Staff at Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou are now able to access addition learning opportunities through the BE Academy.

This year 35 members of staff will undertake a Cultural & Chinese Language Course run in conjunction with Changzhou Institute of Technology during the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

We wish this, our first group, good luck.

Lifelong Learning is something we try to inspire in our pupils. It is only natural that our teachers share that passion for ongoing education. BE believes very strongly in ensuring that this message is supported wholeheartedly and practically. To this end BE supports its academic staff in pursuing the sort of lifelong learning that will ensure that our academic staff continue to deliver the excellent teaching that has become our hallmark; and indeed to build on this as we strive in the pursuit of absolute excellence of our teaching and learning.

In conjunction with the BE Academy, nine Wycombe Abbey School, Changzhou academic staff have recently been provided with the opportunity to undertake Educational Masters' and PGCE Degree courses as part of their own Continual Professional Development – highlighted and supported through our Staff Appraisal System.

We wish our 2020 Educational Masters' Degree cohort every success this year. In their studies.
