Junior Choir sing in Changzhou

Last week, the Primary Junior Choir, supported by the Secondary String Quartet, performed at two hotels in Changzhou – the Sheraton Hotel in Xinbei and the Hilton Hotel in Wujin, as part of their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies.

Departing at the end of the school day, all the children involved, dressed in full school uniform, were very excited to reach the hotel and start rehearsing their songs they had been practicing all term and performing to a public audience.

However, in order to have the strength to be able to sing well, everyone tucked in to a delicious dinner in the hotel dining rooms first.

After the final rehearsals, the twenty strong junior choir took to the stage, supported by the Secondary String Quartet (who had earlier performed a magnificent version of “Carol of the Bells” to introduce themselves), and sang two Christmas songs – "Santa Claus is Comin' To Town" and "Jingle Bells" –  large audiences had gathered at both venues across two nights, and the choir did a fantastic job representing themselves and the school superbly.

The performances were a great way to begin the Christmas season and we look forward to seeing further choir performances both inside and outside school later on in the year.

Merry Christmas!
