Engaging the Pupil Voice in Primary — Food Committee

This week saw the first meeting of the WASCZ Primary School Food Committee. 10 pupils from Grades 4 and 5 who had expressed an interest in being part of this committee, sat down in the Primary Office Meeting room, along with Mr. Jacobs and the Head of the School Canteen, Mr. Jiang, to discuss ways the food at school could be improved. The meeting started with orange and apple juice for all attendees, which was enjoyed by all the children.

As with all proper meetings, a register was taken as well as minutes so that different issues highlighted each week can be followed up. All the children involved were very enthusiastic to offer their opinion on the different meals in the canteen, morning and afternoon snacks, as well as the layout of the canteen. Mr. Jiang was very impressed with some of the comments offered by our pupils, and we look forward to our next meeting after the Chinese New Year holiday.
