On Saturday 20^th March, the Under 9 and Under 11 Primary football teams again travelled to Tianning to take on Wei Hua FC, with the Under 9s taking an experimental line up, and Under 11s bringing in one or two new faces too.

Under 9s

Wei Hua FC taught Wycombe Abbey a lesson on a difficult day for the boys in blue as Wei Hua FC enjoyed a comprehensive victory. 

Last Weekend Wycombe Abbey were able to stage a monumental comeback. This time around Wei Hua FC raced into a two-nil lead and never looked back and learnt the lessons of last week which never allowed the Wycombe Abbey boys a way back into the game.

On a problematic afternoon for the Wycombe Abbey defence the Wycombe Abbey boys were able to see how a simple passing game and some direct running can open up a defence with plenty of numbers back. As the game wore on and the score swelled, Wycombe Abbey continued to get stuck in and never gave up dispute the good football on show from Wei Hua FC, but to no avail with D.Zhu coming the closest to starting a comeback with a typically determined run down the right and shot which whistled just past the post.

In a much-changed Wycombe Abbey Squad, there were as many eight changes following last week’s draw with only T.Zhang, D.Zhu, E.Ai and J.Quintuna keeping their places in an experimental squad.

Man of the Match - D.Zhu:

D.Zhu typified the fighting attitude of this Wycombe Abbey team with his determined runs and quick closing down. D.Zhu showed himself to have fantastic fight in the face of adversity.

Under 11s

Well done to our WAS boys! Today was a comfortable 0-3 win for us! Two goals from R. Huang and one from L. Tsang secured our win.

It was an excellent start from the Wycombe Abbey boys, with H.Liao hitting the post within the first few minutes of the match and R. Huang almost scoring from the rebound shot.

After R. Huang scored the first goal, some heroics from T.Shi’s tackling and J. Kim’s blocking and marking prevented Wei Hua from scoring an equalizer.

Some fantastic passing and movement by our midfield set up R. Huang and L. Tsang for our second and third goals as we ended up with a comfortable win.
