On Tuesday, Wycombe Abbey primary held the first Chinese Culture day. Grade 1 and Grade 2 students had their first Chinese Painting lesson. Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. It refers to paintings painted on Xuan paper or silk by brush, ink and colour.
Chinese painting has three main themes: Chinese Landscape painting, Chinese Bird-and-Flower painting and Chinese Figure painting. Pupils tried to draw Chinese Bird-and-Flower painting. They did an amazing job! They also tidy up neatly after lesson. Some class drew cat, some drew orchid, some drew cherry. They learnt a lot about Chinese painting and had so much fun!
