DIY Jewelry ECA - Ability, Imagination and Creativity

DIY Jewelry is one of the favourite ECAs for students at WASCZ Primary. It helps promote motor-skills, hand-eye co-ordination and cognitive skills to name but a few. It can also encourage children to actively engage in activities such as thinking and imagination.

Before beading, the children needed to design, imagine, and select beads for their jewelry. Do they want to make necklaces or bracelets, or headbands?

When assembling by hand, it is necessary to use both our hands and our brains. First, the children need to measure the thread of the right length, and then cut it with scissors, and then start to string beads according to their own ideas, at last, tie a knot at the end of the thread, and cut off the excess thread.

Pupils encountered some difficulties when stringing beads and this ability to overcome problems and persevere are exactly the kind of qualities we cultivate in our pupils at WASCZ.

Seeing the fruits of their labor presented in front of their eyes, the children are very excited and can't wait to take them home to their parents!
