Last month, three WASCZ pupils were presented with “Student Achievement Awards” from the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).

All three pupils, S. Yang, A. Yu and V. Zhang were nominated for these awards for different reasons.

S. Yang, now in Shark Class in Grade 4, became the first “free reader” in Primary last year upon the introduction of our “Accelerated Reader” scheme in school, showcasing her passion for reading and being able to access books well above her expected age range

A. Yu, now in Manta Ray Class in Grade 6, has been an integral part of the Music Department since joining WASCZ in 2020, and last year was one of two (along with his brother, Morris), Primary violinists to take part in the WASCZ Secondary Orchestra – a fantastic achievement.

V. Zhang, now in Lobster Class in Grade 3, has for a long period of time been involved in fencing, taking part in provincial events across Jiangsu and doing brilliantly for her age.

These awards are fully deserved by all three pupils and highlight the range of different talents we are fortunate to have in WASCZ Primary and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours, be it reading, music or fencing!
