Yoga ECA

This term, the Oyster class in Grade 1 have begun taking up yoga.

The children have enjoyed this ECA very much. When entering the classroom, Ms. Mei plays soothing music to calm the children down. Then after a few simple warm-up actions, the children will ask “What yoga moves will we do today?”

During the Oyster’s Yoga class, in order to relate to the Oyster class’ interests, the yoga moves taught by teachers are related to animals. For example: the frog, the butterfly, the goldfish and so on. The Oysters enjoy competing against each other to see who can hold the best pose.

Yoga helps children to establish healthy habits at an early age. Yoga can enhance children’s strength, co-ordination and flexibility. It can reduce children's anxiety and stress and promote a sense of calmness.

Oyster class have really enjoyed their first introduction to Yoga in Primary!
