Saturday Academic Morning - On A Desert Island

On Saturday 6th May Humanities worked with years 7 to 10 to simulate being stranded on a desert island. The pupils had to set up a ruling council and create the infrastructure for the island. This included making the laws, creating suitable punishments as well as planning what to build, justifying why and planning how they would source the materials such as wood.

The overall exercise was to teach pupils to justify why they were making decisions and to be able to adjust their planning in response to feedback – all key skills in preparation for KS4.
