Secondary Enjoy Show by White Horse Theatre

School News November 18, 2017

On Saturday the theatre company “White Horse” came to perform to the pupils.

With only four actors playing all the characters, they performed Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, a Victorian Gothic Horror, to the Seniors. When Dr Jekyll transformed into My Hyde, pupils were transfixed. Some were even sat on the edge of their seat in anticipation of what was going to happen next.

It was an excellent performance and the pupils clearly enjoyed the show. It was followed by a question and answer session and some of the pupils asked really thoughtful and insightful questions that even got the cast really thinking about the answer.

In the afternoon, the junior pupils watched ‘Fear in the Forrest’. This performance included lots of slapstick and visual humour that had the pupils falling about laughing. They loved it when the cast came into the audience to look for something and interacted with the pupils.

It was great to see the pupils enjoying a live show and we plan to bring back White Horse next year.
