Michaelmas Music Recital

School News November 22, 2018

Last Thursday 22 November, saw all secondary musicians of WAIS descending to the music department to present their Term 1 Recital. With 331 performances, this was the biggest evening of solo performances we have had at the school. The termly recitals provide pupils an opportunity to showcase what they’ve been learning in their instrumental lessons giving them valuable experiences of performing under pressure.

Next few weeks bring ABRSM and Rock School examinations, Term 1 Music Recital serves as the final preparation for our candidates, to learn how to control nerves and increase composure whilst performing - life skills that will help them for exams and beyond!

Each pupil is assessed by an expert Music staff, who provide feedback, encouragement and suggestions on how to take their playing to ‘the next level’. This important feedback will enable pupils to set new goals for Term 2 with their instrumental teachers.
