WAIS Overseas Educational Visits

School News March 22, 2019

The younger pupils are visiting England this week, to learn about English literature. On the tour of some of the most historical towns of England, they will get an opportunity to visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s birthplace including watching a performance of “As You like It”. They will then return to London to visit Harry Potter World and the classic London iconic buildings and places such as; Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, British Museum and the Globe Theatre. The final part of the trip will be to see the amazing musical the “Lion King”.

Many of the Year 9’s and 10’s have flown over to Thailand for a Scuba Diving trip. Many of them will dive for the first time and will have to pass courses to ensure that they are safe in the water, once this is done then they can see and discover the world under the surface of the water.

The older pupils will go to New York, to learn about Art and Drama. They will visit Manhattan’s Central Park to start off with, then visit some of the world’s best art galleries such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim. The tour also includes university visits such as NYU. A drama tour of New York must always include a Broadway show!

Fantastic opportunities for WAIS pupils to learn outside the classroom to enhance their education.
