Pennants Received for Charity Events

School News January 15, 2020

On the morning of January 16, 2020, Liu Yajuan, the director of the Star Public Welfare Foundation, and Chai Jianming, the head of local council made a special trip to Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou to give us a pennant to thank our teachers and pupils for their support for charity. The pennant reads: "Every good deed you do is like countless candles gathered together, emitting a vast warm glow in this world."

The Star Public Welfare Foundation is a charity established with the purpose of spreading the spirit of volunteerism and helping families who have lost children to get through difficulties. Pupils from our school have spontaneously donated more than ten thousand yuan to the foundation last year. They also actively participated in charity activities and visited families in need, cancer patients, and parents who lost children. They silently contribute to charity and pass the love on.

David Griffiths, the headmaster, and Kan Qinghao, the Chinese principal, accepted the pennants on behalf of the teachers and pupils. Mr. Griffiths said excitedly: " All teachers and pupils and I will continue supporting charity. Please contact us at any time to participate in if there are any activities! I will hang this pennant outside the headmaster’s office to encourage our pupils to support charity."
