Our Award-winning scholars enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable and academically stimulating trip to the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Bangkok in June after their qualifying success in the regional round in Suzhou in February. Each of our 4 teams in both the Junior and Senior Divisions competed in 3 debates and wrote collaborative essays about the History of Cheating, the Science of Disease and Public Health and the social and economic impact of States Failing. They competed against 3400 other international scholars in the Scholars’ Challenge and Bowl and rewarded their hard work with the fantastic achievement of winning numerous debates and winning 12 medals in representation of both their school and their countries.
Erka Enkhbold from our school was as the Flag Bearer in the International Flag March which opened the Awards Ceremony for the Junior contingent.
We had fun along the way too, with visits to the Bangkok Grand Palace and Madame Tussauds and plenty of ice cream to soothe the heat and humidity of Thailand. We look forward to next year’s preparations in advance of an even larger cohort representing Wycombe Abbey International School on the global stage!
