Measuring the World
Early summer has arrived, and the garden of Wycombe Abbey Kindergarten is lush. The children of Angelfish Class took their rulers and pencils and went outdoors to measure this wonderful little world.
The children found that there were various green plants in our small garden, including tall trees, short shrubs, and small grass one by one… Everyone recorded and drew the plants found in the garden, and measured their length and size with a ruler.
By doing this hands-on activity, the children are stimulated to observe and document the diversity of plants, and it also helps them practise measurement skills, undertake scientific inquiry and reinforce their understanding of plant growth.
