Celebrating Success with the Cambridge A2 and B1 Exams
In October 2023, Ms. Treyson embarked on a new journey with her Grade 7X1 students.
“Today, my dear students,” she announced with a warm smile, “let’s begin our journey towards the prestigious Cambridge B1 exam.”
After she introduced Cambridge English system to the class, one brave soul hesitated, “But Ms. Treyson, aren’t we too young for this?” With a reassuring tone, Ms. Treyson replied, “Age is but a number, there is nothing to worry about, we will work together with determination and perseverance.”
The success of the Cambridge exams highlighted the dedication and preparation of both our students and faculty. Their hard work and perseverance paid off, with approximately 76% of candidates receiving certificates from the Cambridge Assessment English, validating their proficiency and linguistic prowess. It was a moment of immense pride and joy for our school community as we witnessed our students’ accomplishments celebrated on a global platform.
To commemorate this remarkable achievement and honor the efforts of our students, a ceremony was held on March 14th, 2024. The atmosphere was electric with excitement as students received their Cambridge certificates. The sense of accomplishment radiated from every corner of the room, affirming the impact of their dedication and the value of their achievement.
H. Yang (Blake), a Grade 9 student, expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to have passed the B1 exam! It feels like a dream come true, and I’m truly fortunate and proud to receive the certificate.”
C. Zhang (Cavell), a Grade 7 student who received a B2 certificate for achieving an exceptionally high mark in the exam, expressed her confidence, saying, “I’ve been studying English for a while now, so I felt prepared! I’m proud of myself for getting through it, and I got even more excited when I saw my score excited to see how I did! I got B2!”
Looking ahead, we are deeply inspired by the success of our students and fueled by the belief that this is just the beginning of our journey. As we reflect on the past year’s accomplishments, we eagerly anticipate the future opportunities that lie ahead.
Our commitment to excellence remains steadfast, and we are determined to build upon this foundation by integrating Cambridge exams regularly into our curriculum across all grade levels from lower school to upper school. These exams not only serve as a benchmark of academic proficiency but also open doors to a world of opportunities, enabling our students to compete on a global stage and realize their aspirations.
