David Aitchison
Executive Head of School
David has a PGCE in Applied Science, an MA in International Education from the University of Sunderland, and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and is working towards an Educational Doctorate (EdD). With over 21 years of teaching and management experience as a teacher and headmaster in the UK, South Korea, Mongolia and Thailand, Mr Aitchison will lead WASCZ to deepen its community and reach new heights of excellence in education, drawing on his outstanding leadership, extensive experience, academic learning and cultural awareness.

Yue Shi
Chinese Head of School
Yue Shi holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of North London. With nearly ten years of study and work experience in the UK. Upon returning to China, he served as the China Representative for a UK-listed company. In 2019, he joined WAS as Vice President of the Group. As both an educator and a WASCZ parent – his child currently studies at WASCZ – he deeply identifies with the school’s holistic education philosophy and is committed to driving its continued development.

Kaihe Chen
Chinese Head of Moral Education
A graduate from the College of Law and Politics of Anhui Normal University, he has 40 years of education and teaching experience and a wealth of school management experience. He is an influential educator who has presided over or participated in national and provincial education research projects and published dozens of papers in journals above the provincial level and national Chinese core journals, factors that have contributed to his appointment to the 14th Changzhou CPPCC city advisory body.

David Fosu
Executive Head of Upper School
David graduated with an LLB in Law and an MSc in International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). With over ten years of teaching and leadership experience across the UK, China, and Ghana, he is well-versed in multicultural education and international curricula including A Level, IGCSE, IB, and Edexcel. His teaching expertise spans Economics, Business Studies, and Accounting. He has led summer camps at universities including the London School of Economics and Political Science and University College London, and developing an alumni programme in partnership with King's College London.

Victoria Hany
Executive Head of Lower School
She has a BA (Hons) in the Nottingham Trent University and a PGCE in the University of Sunderland. With over 20 years of experience teaching the British National Curriculum in the UK, Egypt and Qatar, and as a WASCZ parent, she has a deep empathy for holistic education and is committed to helping her students achieve physical well-being, a sense of belonging in their minds, and a sense of academic fulfilment at WASCZ.

Helen Benaglia-Wood
Executive Head of Kindergarten
She has an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Exeter, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Hong Kong Institute of Education. With over ten years of teaching experience in Hong Kong, She has a deep understanding of WASCZ philosophy of holistic education, and the combination of exceptional professional competence and cross-cultural understanding enables her to excel in delivering British education in a Chinese context.

Dr Richard Su
Director of Academics and Integrated Curriculum
Richard has a PhD in Mathematics from Loughborough University and 17 years of experience in the British education system, with a subject speciality in A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. He has seven years of UCAS application guidance experience, supporting many students in gaining offers from Oxford, Cambridge, and competitive medicine-related programmes.

Kristan Proudman
Deputy Head of Pastoral
Kristan holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Essex, UK, and a professional teaching qualification from the University of Cambridge for international teacher development. With over 20 years of experience in international education and school leadership, he is an accredited inspector for COBIS and has served as a tutor for the University of Buckingham’s international teacher training programme. He has held senior teaching and leadership positions in schools across the UK, China, Australia, and the United States. Well-versed in IB, IGCSE, and A Level curricula, He has developed a strong track record in teaching, pastoral, boarding, and university guidance.
