On April 11–12, 2025, WASCZ proudly hosted its first-ever NESSIC (Network for Enriching Students and Schools in China) Football Tournament, marking a significant milestone in our school’s sporting journey. The event brought together teams from across China, including two schools from Beijing, one from Shanghai, one from Haikou, and teams from WASNJ and WASHZ. Over two days of spirited competition, our campus was abuzz with energy, camaraderie, and a shared passion for football.
We are thrilled to announce that our football team secured an impressive third-place finish in this highly competitive tournament. This achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and resilience of our students, who have trained diligently under the guidance of our coaching staff. Each match showcased their strategic play, technical skills and determination.
The following students represented WASCZ with distinction:
P. Wang (WASCZ Sportsmanship Award), L. Wang (WASCZ player of tournament), B. Pan, A. Bojanic, D. Song, W. Fu, L. Angheben, O. Xiong, R. Huang, I. Xie, C. Xie, T. Shi. Throughout the tournament, these players exemplified athletic excellence, sportsmanship, respect, and integrity—core values that WASCZ strives to instil in all our students.
Hosting the NESSIC Football Tournament was a collaborative endeavour that involved careful planning and coordination. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated coaches, supportive staff and enthusiastic volunteers who contributed to the event’s success. We also want to express our deep appreciation to our parents, whose unwavering support and encouragement play a vital role in our students’ achievements. Your support is integral to our school community.
Once again, congratulations to our football team for their outstanding performance. Your hard work and dedication have made us all proud. This tournament has set a new benchmark for sports at WASCZ, and we are excited to build on this momentum. We eagerly anticipate the future competitions and the opportunities they will provide for our students to grow, compete, and excel.
