Way to Healthy Eating
In today’s digital era, where fast food and sugary snacks often dominate the menu, it’s critical to educate ourselves and make informed choices about our dietary habits. The students of Form 2S decided to address one of the common struggles which is Healthy Eating. Every student was aware of how thistopic is addressed to by their parents as well as teachers; eating their fruit and vegetables every day is essential!
The first step towards understanding what Healthy Eating means involved researching the key aspects of the growth years? During the research the children were introduced to new vocabulary such as vitamins, minerals, proteins and carbohydrates. They discovered how these work in the body’s cells and are vital to so many functions. They boost our immune system and help us grow and develop into strong individuals.
The second step was to understand the advantages and disadvantages of Healthy Eating. The students deduced and observed that a well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins fuels our bodies.
On the other hand, they also discovered that excessive consumption of sugary snacks and processed foods can lead to obesity, a condition that poses various health risks. Additionally, they learned that such foods could contribute to dental problems, including tooth decay and cavities.
Following a well-prepared research and data collection, we discussed and prepared our Healthy eating plan, explaining we would like to eat in a day, using our new vocabulary and forming good structured sentences according to ability. The students proudly presented their posters to their peers and were eager to process the information, make a conscious effort to address eating habits, monitor what their peers are eating and encourage each other to make healthy choices.
