Balanced Excellence:
Thriving Across Three Key Disciplines
The Class of 2025 at Wycombe Abbey Schools in China has excelled not only in the QS rankings but also in demonstrating balanced and in-depth development across multiple disciplines.
Overall, the majority of students focus their studies on the humanities and STEM fields (including science and engineering, as well as social sciences), which account for 66% of all applications. Among these students, over half have gained places at universities ranked within the QS top 20, nearly 80% have received offers from institutions in the QS top 50, and an impressive 95% have secured admission to universities ranked in the QS top 100, clearly demonstrating the strong academic foundation and global competitiveness of WASGC students in core disciplines.
Meanwhile, applications to music and the arts (the creative disciplines) make up 34% of the total, with equally outstanding results. 20% of these students have received offers from universities ranked in the QS top 50 or from UK Russell Group institutions. In comparison, 75% have been accepted by prestigious art and music schools, highlighting WASGC’s sustained excellence and deep commitment in the field of arts education.
Among the Class of 2025 graduates at WASGC, science and engineering, social sciences, and the arts each represent approximately one-third of their chosen fields of study. This balanced and diverse academic development highlights the distinctive strengths of WASGC’s educational philosophy.

At many schools, educational resources tend to focus on a few traditional strengths, which can restrict students’ development pathways. At WASGC, however, we firmly believe that Every Child Can Excel. This core philosophy underpins every aspect of our teaching, curriculum, and university guidance, driving us to recognise individual differences and nurture each student’s unique potential.
To this end, WASGC has developed a highly diverse curriculum that fully respects individuality. From core subjects to enrichment activities, and from the arts and sports to academics and engineering, we offer students a broad and balanced range of pathways for growth. Whatever their interests, WASGC provides equal resources and support — not only rigorous academic training but also expert mentorship and personalised university counselling — truly placing students at the centre of all we do, respecting every passion and honouring every effort.
This student-centred approach has nurtured the Class of 2025’s impressive admissions success, with science and engineering, social sciences, and the arts all flourishing equally. Each student shines in their chosen field and progresses to world-class universities. Sustained UK Application Success:
Celebrating British Education
As in previous years, WASGC students have once again demonstrated remarkable competitiveness in the UK university admissions process. 90% of students received offers from Russell Group universities, with nearly 35% gaining places at the prestigious G5 institutions.
Moreover, two students received offers from Oxford and Cambridge respectively — a testament to WASGC’s continued strength in Oxbridge admissions. Amidst today’s turbulent international landscape, UK universities remain the primary destination for WASGC students, underscoring WASGC’s sustained leadership in UK undergraduate applications.
Wycombe Abbey in the UK, founded in 1896, is one of the most prestigious all-girls boarding schools in Britain, renowned for its outstanding academic results and commitment to holistic education. The school has consistently topped the UK GCSE and A-Level league tables and is dedicated to nurturing future female leaders with global vision.
As the sister school of the century-old British institution Wycombe Abbey in the UK, WASGC boasts a rich heritage of British-style holistic education. At the kindergarten stage, the school follows the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, fostering comprehensive development across seven key areas. During compulsory education, WASGC delivers a blended curriculum for Chinese students, combining the national curriculum with British international courses and project-based learning. This approach emphasises bilingual proficiency while nurturing problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking. At the senior level, WASGC offers the internationally recognised IGCSE and A-Level programmes, with a broad selection of subjects to help students identify and pursue their strengths and passions. Personalised one-to-one university guidance further supports students in securing places at the world’s top 100 universities.
To continually enhance teaching quality and academic standards, WASGC maintains a close partnership with Wycombe Abbey in the UK, regularly organising teacher training, curriculum sharing, educational seminars, and student exchanges. This collaboration ensures that the core values of British education are effectively embedded across our campuses in China.
In May this year, a delegation of staff and students from Wycombe Abbey in the UK visited China. Three members of staff included two members of Wycombe Abbey’s leadership team, toured the four campuses in Changzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong, and together with five current students, took part in the special alumni event held in Shanghai. During their visit, they engaged deeply with classes and interacted with both teachers and students, participated in educational exchanges and campus life sharing sessions, gaining a thorough understanding of WASGC’s development and the holistic growth of its students. The Wycombe Abbey UK delegation was all impressed by WASGC’s world-class learning environment, the dedication of its teaching staff, and the confidence and enthusiasm demonstrated by its students.
At the same time, by leveraging the unique advantages of group-based schooling, the Group is actively advancing collaborative initiatives across its schools, including curriculum development, the integration of teaching resources, the tracking of students’ academic progress, and the development of teacher evaluation systems. We believe that as these efforts continue to deepen, WASGC will set new benchmarks for international education in China.
