The Grade 4 students in Shark Class have recently undertaken a comprehensive study of geography, which has been designed to provide them with a deeper understanding of the world around us. This interactive learning experience has included a range of engaging lessons and activities, such as the creation of papier-mache globes and an exploration of significant landmarks and natural wonders from around the world.
The students’ creation of papier-mache globes has been a particular highlight of their learning experience. Through this hands-on activity, they have gained a greater appreciation of the different features of each continent, while also learning about the challenges of representing these on a globe.
In addition to creating their globes, students have also delved into the study of significant landmarks and natural wonders from around the world. This has included learning about iconic sites such as the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge in Salisbury, England.
As a culminating component of this learning experience, students will be required to write a report on their favourite country, further consolidating their knowledge of geography and promoting their research skills.
