With this year’s IGCSE examination results now released, WASCZ students have once again delivered an impressive set of results — more than one-third of students achieved grades 8–9 (9 is the highest grade) in three or more subjects. Students performed particularly strongly in STEM subjects, with several high-grade indicators continuing to rise, demonstrating their strong academic foundations.
Results at a Glance
- Computer Science: 100% achieved grade 9 (the highest grade, equivalent to above A*)
- Mathematics: 72% achieved grades 8–9 (equivalent to A* or above)
- Chemistry: 57% achieved grades 8–9 (equivalent to A* or above)
- Physics: 65% achieved grades 8–9 (equivalent to A* or above)
Across all examinations, 31% of entries achieved the highest grade of 9, while 45% achieved grades 9-8. High grades were particularly concentrated in STEM subjects such as Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, reflecting WASCZ’s strong foundations and sustained commitment to STEM education.
In addition, 87% of students achieved at least one grade 9;
75% of students achieved at least two grades 9-8;

From individual subject breakthroughs to excellence across multiple disciplines, and from mastering knowledge to developing broader academic capabilities, these results demonstrate WASCZ students’ continued progress in both the depth and breadth of their academic achievement.
Charlotte Allen
Deputy Head Academic
“It is a real pleasure to join the school as Deputy Head Academic, and I am very much looking forward to getting to know our students, parents and staff over the coming year. My role is to help ensure that every student is challenged, supported and encouraged to achieve more than they might initially believe possible.
These results are fantastic, but I believe that academic success is about much more than examination results. It is about developing curiosity, resilience, independence and the confidence to tackle difficult problems. At the same time, we should have high expectations of ourselves and of one another. Our students are capable of achieving excellent things, and I want to help create an academic culture in which ambition is encouraged, effort is valued and every student is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential.”
Dr Richard Su
Director of Academics
“This year’s iGCSE results give us much to celebrate, from exceptional individual achievements to the progress made by students across different starting points. At WASCZ, knowing our students well is central to our approach, with regular tracking and timely intervention helping us provide the right support and guidance for each individual. As our Grade 10 students move into Grade 11, these results will help them make informed choices, build on their strengths and choose pathways that are right for them. We look forward to seeing them take this next step with confidence and ambition.”
From WASCZ to the World
At WASCZ, we provide students with a clear academic pathway throughout their educational journey — building strong foundations through rigorous teaching, broadening possibilities through diverse subject choices, and connecting students to opportunities on the global stage through continuous university guidance and support.
At secondary level, we offer 20+ IGCSE and A Level subjects across a wide range of disciplines, including humanities, STEM, arts and economics, enabling every student to identify future pathways that align with their interests and strengths. Each student is also supported by a dedicated university guidance counsellor, providing personalised support throughout the process, from subject selection and application planning to personal statement preparation and interview guidance.
We also regularly invite leading overseas universities to deliver talks and guidance sessions. Through our Gifted and Talented Programme, in collaboration with international education experts, students benefit from a range of support including personalised mentoring, targeted preparation for high-level academic competitions and individualised career planning. Together with 110+ Extra-curricular activities, these opportunities help students develop a broad knowledge base, expand their global perspectives, strengthen their university applications and prepare for the world’s leading universities.
Behind every outstanding result is the students’ dedication day after day, the commitment of teachers who give their knowledge and support wholeheartedly, and another powerful reflection of WASCZ’s commitment to holistic education in practice. We are immensely proud of every student who has achieved excellent results, and we look forward to seeing them continue to reach new heights, carrying the same passion and dedication into the next stage of their academic journey and achieving even greater success.
