Immersive English Environment
In an immersive English environment, WAS English Academy is led by native English-speaking instructors who personally guide the children. This ensures they acquire the most authentic and practical oral language skills, becoming familiar with contemporary language habits. As a result, the children can comprehend and respond effortlessly in daily conversations. Additionally, they have the opportunity to participate in English-language instruction for subjects such as sports, arts, design and technology. Through constant exposure, they gain practical experience, contributing to the elevation of their proficiency levels.
Application-focused, Memory-light Thematic Learning
The WAS English Academy adopts a thematic teaching approach. We do not encourage rote memorisation; instead, we believe that using the language is the best way to learn it. Under one overarching theme, children are given a focused sub-theme each day. Through a fully English-immersive programme—including vocabulary practice, art and craft activities, discussion workshops, mini theatre and other varied learning formats—students progressively explore the topic in depth. Immersed in rich and engaging subject matter, children are able to achieve twice the learning impact with half the effort in their English learning.
Setting by Current English Ability for Instruction
Tailored instruction ensures excellence for every child. Before the camp, we assess each child’s English proficiency and implement tiered teaching based on the assessment results. For those with foundational weaknesses, we focus on strengthening vocabulary, syntax, and tense usage. Children with a certain proficiency level engage in project-based learning, fostering comprehensive application and practice in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
