Immersive Chinese Language Camp
Expert Instruction
WAS offers regular HSK courses as well as A Level and IGCSE Chinese as a Second Language programs, boasting a mature Chinese language teaching system for international students. This camp is taught by full-time specialised teachers from WAS with degrees in Teaching of Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL) and possess solid professional expertise and extensive cross-cultural teaching experience. They ccurately understand the learning characteristics and cognitive patterns of international students, using personalised methods to stimulate interest and ensure teaching quality.
Full Language Immersion
We break the boundaries of traditional classrooms to create an immersive Chinese language environment for students. During breaks and extracurricular activities, international students will interact closely with native Chinese-speaking teachers and students, applying the language naturally in real communication. Boarding students will also participate in thoughtfully designed structured evening activities to reinforce what they’ve learned that day, integrating Chinese into daily life. Additionally, excursions into Chinese cities and streets are organised, allowing students to experience the practicality and vitality of the language firsthand.
In-Depth Cultural Experiences
Language learning cannot be separated from cultural immersion. Every afternoon, we arrange 1‒2 cultural experience activities, such as calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, Hanfu, and tea ceremony, enabling students to understand the cultural connotations behind the language while improving their listening and speaking skills. Off-campus study trips on weekends also focus on cultural experiences, taking students to explore historical sites and museums to fully appreciate the charm of Chinese culture, build cultural awareness, spark interest in learning, and enhance cross-cultural communication skills.
