Wuwei is 870 kilometers away from Dunhuang, both located in the Hexi Corridor. Although not far geographically, due to its remote location, the local left-behind children have relatively limited access to educational resources and seldom have the opportunity to “see the world.”
Inspired by her philanthropic father, E. Xu, a G10 student from WASCZ, was deeply moved by the innocent, optimistic, and unique way the children of Wuwei viewed the world during her volunteer service in the Tengger Desert region. “They haven’t been to Dunhuang, and I haven’t been there either. I hope we can go to Dunhuang together and learn about Dunhuang’s culture,” E. Xu said, sparking her desire to help these children fulfill their Dunhuang dreams.
