With profound joy and deep emotion, we transitioned from 2023 to 2024, embracing the kindness of others and drawing inspiration from their courage.
On the morning of 3 January, Secretary General Xu Min, Office Director Zhou Qiang of the Wujin District Foundation for Bravery, and Officer Zhou Yuchun from the Gehu Police Station visited Changzhou Weiya to present the “Active Participant in Bravery in Wujin District, Changzhou City” award to our rowing teacher, Belle Zhang.
Furthermore, in the recent “Encounter the Most Beautiful, Witness ‘Virtue'” bravery-themed short video collection activity organized by the Municipal Foundation for Bravery, Changzhou Daily, and Changzhou Radio and Television Station, Belle Zhang secured the top position in the bravery selection through intense online voting and expert evaluation.
For over a decade, WASCZ has been dedicated to providing students with diverse opportunities, encouraging them to explore their potential, broaden their horizons, and create a space for free personal development. Simultaneously, the institution spares no effort in ensuring the utmost safety for its students, exemplified by this “textbook-style” rescue operation. Belle Zhang elaborated, “This academic year, we bought over twenty life jackets, equipped the coaching boat with walkie-talkies, telescopes, and anti-grounding paddles. We consistently ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and proper functioning of the boats and accessories. Many teachers, including myself, participated in rescue training offered by the Red Cross and Blue Sky Rescue Team, successfully passing the exams and obtaining certificates.”
Looking ahead, Belle Zhang will lead WASCZ students in thorough preparations for the upcoming Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames in London this summer. We firmly believe that the teacher’s words and actions embody the most poignant aspects of education. She imparts bravery, passion, and an steely determination to achieve ultimate victory.
