In April, the WASCZ K1 children visited Changzhou International Airport, where they were given a tour of the fire station, airport control tower, and aircraft parking stand. They had an incredible amount of fun!
Experiencing Firefighting Life Up Close
Under the firefighters’ guidance, the children first visited the fire station and excitedly boarded a fire truck to experience the perspective of a real “firefighter.” Everyone also dressed up in mini fire suits and safety helmets, gaining a sense of the hard work and responsibility firefighters take on. What amazed everyone the most was the fire truck’s water-spraying demonstration. Jets of water shot into the sky, drawing excited cheers from the children. The firefighters also staged a rescue simulation, giving everyone a vivid sense of the urgency and importance of firefighting work.
Exploring the Airport Control Tower: The “Smart Brain” of Takeoff
Next, the group visited the airport control tower, the “command centre” for aircraft takeoff and landing. Through the large glass windows, the children witnessed the thrilling moment a plane took off, while staff explained how flights are safely guided. Eyes wide with curiosity, the children asked questions like, “Why can planes fly so high?” and “How does the man in the tower talk to the pilot?” The staff patiently answered, planting the seeds of aviation dreams in young hearts.
Honorary Moment: Receiving “Junior Firefighter” Certificates
To conclude the event, the firefighters presented each child with a special “Junior Firefighter” certificate in recognition of their bravery and enthusiasm. The children beamed with pride and took memorable photos with the firefighters.
This hands-on experience not only broadened the children’s horizons but also sowed the seeds of safety awareness and career aspirations. Who knows, perhaps one day, one of them will become a true hero who keeps others safe!
