About ASIA Business Simulation
The ASIA Business Simulation is a highly regarded, large-scale business competition conducted entirely in English. Built on an advanced IT-based business simulation system, it recreates realistic market conditions and corporate decision-making environments. Since its launch in 2011, the competition has engaged over 80,000 students from more than 600 schools across Asia. Working in teams, students establish and operate their own companies, making strategic decisions across areas ranging from corporate culture to production planning. WASCZ students have participated in the competition for several consecutive years and have consistently achieved excellent results.
This year’s challenge centred on the theme of sustainability, with teams tasked to simulate the establishment and operation of an Instant Camera company. Through a series of demanding stages—including Auction, YES Business Quiz, Pitch Deck, Business Battle, and four rounds of Operation, the company with the highest net asset value emerged as the winner. Completing multiple complex tasks within a limited timeframe and successfully running a simulated company proved to be not only a test of business knowledge, but also a comprehensive assessment of strategic thinking, adaptability, and collaborative skills.
Strategic Showdowns, Business Acumen on Full Display
The competition opened with the auction part, where students bid strategically to acquire essential equipment and materials, such as timber, bricks, and steel, to construct their company headquarters. Teams were required to assess market conditions swiftly, balance costs against returns, and engage in tactical negotiations with other teams to optimise resources and avoid early bankruptcy.
The operation rounds proved decisive. Across four intensive rounds over two days, each team’s appointed decision-maker analysed company performance in real time, monitored competitors, and adjusted strategies accordingly crafting optimal responses within a rapidly evolving market environment.
Notably, Company 4, formed by Grade 7 students at WASCZ, demonstrated remarkable adaptability when competing against older teams. Rising from second-to-last place during the operational rounds, they staged an impressive comeback to secure a Bronze Award.
The all-English pitch deck and business battle offered a key platform for teams to present their vision and strategy to the judges, directly testing students’ communication, persuasion, and logical reasoning skills. In this stage, Wycombe Abbey students stood out with clear, confident delivery and well-structured business proposals, showcasing strong commercial foundations and assured professionalism.
Teamwork in Action, Creating Value Through Collaboration
How to maximise company profits within a limited timeframe by leveraging each member’s strengths through effective collaboration was a constant challenge throughout the competition. Encouragingly, several WASCZ teams brought together students from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. While each student contributed expertise in their own area, it was the spirit of teamwork and cross-cultural collaboration that truly enabled innovation and shared success.
“In our group, the division of tasks is according to each person’s specialty and likes. In our group, we prioritise having fun and teamwork and fairness.”
— Silver Award winner, Team 5 SNAP
“I think that our team handled the competition very well because we have different people from studying different areas in the school. For example, we have students who take graphic design which helped us to design the logos, and we also have students in economics and business which helped us to manage finances and come up with like business, ideas and innovation.”
— Bronze Award winner, Team 2 Pistachio
At WASCZ, we are committed to providing students with diverse, multidisciplinary learning platforms, where they can apply their knowledge in highly authentic professional environments, learn to listen and communicate effectively within teams, and develop resilience and adaptability through high-pressure decision-making. Rooted in our Holistic Education philosophy, this approach not only supports students in building a strong portfolio and gaining entry to their chosen schools but also focuses on character development and broadening their horizons, ensuring growth that benefits them for a lifetime.
Congratulations again to our students! In this exciting showcase of business acumen and teamwork, our one team qualified for the 2026 ALL STAR Semi League, while three teams qualified for the 2026 ALL STAR National Final! We look forward to seeing them navigate the global stage and make their mark in the world of business.
