Gaochun, China – November 29, 2024 – Last month, our five-day expedition to the stunning landscapes of Gaochun concluded successfully. This remarkable journey included 113 Upper School students, accompanied by dedicated educators and programme leaders, participating in an experience that fostered adventure, learning, and personal growth.
The journey started with a warm welcome at their hotel, where students were introduced to their team leaders and participated in team-building games. Excitement soared as students explored Gaochun Old Street during a scavenger hunt, learned practical outdoor skills in a camping workshop, and immersed themselves in the breathtaking natural surroundings through invigorating hikes.
From November 25th to 29th, students participated in a diverse range of activities—including kayaking, archery tag, and DIY ceramics workshops—that challenged them physically and mentally. Each event was designed to both not only provide thrills but also to provide thrills and foster essential skills such as independence, communication, and teamwork.
Key Learning Outcomes Achieved
Throughout the programme, students demonstrated remarkable growth in several key areas:
Independence: Participants navigated new environments and made decisions that empowered them to take charge of their learning experiences.
Communication Skills: Through group activities and team-building exercises, our students honed their ability to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with peers, showcasing their impressive growth.

Reflective Learning: Daily debriefs allowed students to reflect on their experiences, enhancing their understanding of personal development and goal-setting.
This expedition was more than just a trip; it was a vital opportunity for students to grow, forge lasting friendships, and develop skills that will serve them well in their future endeavours.
