Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break over the Chinese New Year holiday. As we return for Semester 2, we do so with the energy and promise of the Year of the Snake—a year that represents wisdom, resilience, and transformation. These are qualities we see every day in our students, and we look forward to an exciting semester ahead filled with new challenges, opportunities, and achievements.
Already, we have much to celebrate. Our Grade 12 students have received an outstanding 169 university offers, a testament to their hard work, the dedication of their teachers, and the strength of our academic program. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing even more success as additional offers come in over the coming months.
During the break, we also had the privilege of attending our first-ever Winter Rowing Camp, led by Coach Belle, with 18 dedicated rowers pushing themselves to new levels. It was inspiring to see students embracing the challenge, training in the winter conditions, and strengthening their teamwork and endurance. This kind of commitment speaks to the spirit of our school—one where students continuously strive for excellence, both in and out of the classroom.
As we look ahead, the semester is full of unique and exciting opportunities. From Chinese Culture Day, where we will come together to celebrate tradition and heritage, to musical performances, talent showcases, and sports events, there will be many moments for students to shine. Our University Fair will offer valuable insights for students planning their next steps, and our Graduation Ceremony will be a special celebration for our seniors as they prepare to embark on their next journey. These events are not just milestones, but also platforms for our students to showcase their talents and skills.
More than anything, though, this semester is about coming together as a school community—supporting one another, challenging ourselves, and making the most of every experience. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, in the labs, on the water, or out in the wider world, I encourage every student to embrace the opportunities ahead with curiosity, determination, and enthusiasm.
Wishing you all a fantastic Semester 2, filled with learning, growth, and success.
Warm regards,
David Aitchison
