A few weeks ago, our students embarked on a trip to Jilong Mountain, Nanjing, discovering a journey filled with adventure, teamwork, and personal growth. From the moment they set off on a scenic bus ride, the excitement built as participants dove headfirst into new friendships, establishing a collaborative tone for the days ahead.
The students found the camp to be a hub of exhilarating experiences! They navigated breathtaking landscapes on a hike, not led by adults, but by themselves. This unique experience allowed them to cultivate leadership skills and teamwork like never before. They ‘rolled up their sleeves’, contributed to local community initiatives, connected meaningfully with local elders, and left a lasting impact.
Thrills were plentiful as students took on challenges such as building and paddling rafts, rock climbing, and delving into the depths of caves. Each activity pushed boundaries, encouraging students to embrace resilience and discover the power of cooperation, a testament to their strength and determination.
A highlight of their experiences was a comprehensive First Aid workshop, where students gained essential skills to serve them well beyond their school years. Their evenings were filled with laughter and reflection, featuring outdoor movie nights, BBQs, and a fun-filled board games night, creating bonds that will last a lifetime.
This camp was not just the final activity in our enrichment series; it was a profound learning experience that fostered growth, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories. We are incredibly proud of our graduating students for their enthusiasm, spirit, and commitment throughout this adventure.
