A wide range of exciting Summer School programmes, filled with exploration, creativity and challenge, are now in full swing!
This year, we are delighted to welcome both familiar and new faces. Some campers are returning for their fourth or fifth consecutive summer, while others are joining us for the very first time. We are also thrilled to welcome students from France, Russia and Mongolia, bringing together young people from around the world to learn, connect and grow through meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Let’s step inside WASCZ Summer School and discover some of the memorable moments from an exciting first week.
「Play」at Summer School
🌿KG Forest
In the morning, some children waved goodbye to their parents through tears. By the end of the day, they were so absorbed in exploring the Forest Garden that they did not want to leave.
At WASCZ Summer School, children immerse themselves in nature, observing insects and plants through Forest School, developing teamwork and coordination in AFL skills sessions, and building confidence and resilience through a variety of fun physical activities.
🏃♀️Multisport Course
Under the guidance of experienced coaches, campers quickly immersed themselves in a wide range of sports, including netball, football, badminton,floorball, table tennis, frisbee and rugby, making full use of WASCZ’s 10,000 m² Sports Dome. Through both competition and collaboration, they challenged themselves while enjoying every moment of movement.
Alongside their sports programme, campers also took part in drama and reading sessions, developing both physical fitness and English proficiency—truly growing through play.
🏊♀️Water Multisport Course
From indoor rowing machines and swimming skills to their first experiences in single sculls, campers are building their confidence step by step as they begin their water sports journey.
Over the two weeks, they will continue developing their rowing and sailing skills, preparing to take to the water with greater confidence during the final showcase.
「Create」at Summer School
🔬 STEM Course
Dressed in lab coats, campers transformed into young scientists as they embarked on a journey of discovery and innovation.
Lower School campers created Density Rainbows, explored game programming and experimented with 3D printing, discovering the excitement of science through hands-on investigation. Upper School campers produced pH indicators and explored the relationship between mathematics and art through string art, developing creative thinking through interdisciplinary learning.
Many more exciting scientific challenges await them over the coming fortnight as they continue to investigate, collaborate and innovate together.
🏎️Design & Technology Course
The journey began with the world of Formula One. Campers explored racing car design, learnt the principles of aerodynamics and organised themselves into project teams. They will design, build, test and refine their own racing cars before putting them to the test in an exciting final race challenge.
「Learn」at Summer School
📖English Academy
Role-play, collaborative learning, vocabulary games and interactive speaking activities provide age-appropriate language challenges for every camper.
Drama remains one of the programme’s highlights. By performing, communicating and expressing themselves in authentic English-speaking environments, campers steadily build both language skills and confidence.
🔢Problem Solver Hub
Mathematics can be both challenging and enjoyable.
Guided by experienced teachers, campers tackle thought-provoking mathematical problems by breaking down complex questions, identifying patterns and working collaboratively to develop logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
「Experience Culture」at Summer School
🌏Global Perspective & Immersive Chinese Language Camp
This summer, WASCZ Summer School once again welcomes international campers from around the world.
Students from Russia and Mongolia have already begun their immersive Chinese and English language learning experience. Over the coming two weeks, they will also explore Chinese calligraphy, tea culture and traditional festivals, while participating in educational visits around the city to experience the richness of Chinese culture first-hand.
「Boarding Life」at Summer School
As evening falls, the boarding houses come alive, and campers begin enjoying the full 24/7 boarding experience at WASCZ.
For some, it is their very first time away from home, excitedly sharing the day’s adventures with their families during evening calls.
Returning campers, many attending for the fourth or fifth consecutive summer, warmly help their new roommates settle in and quickly become friendly guides.
Some campers are even lucky enough to celebrate their birthdays on the very first day of camp, enjoying birthday cakes and heartfelt wishes from friends—creating memories that will last long after summer ends.
Here, students learn to live independently, organise their daily routines and care for themselves. Through evening activities, shared conversations with roommates and a fully bilingual boarding environment, they develop independence, self-discipline and lasting friendships.
This summer, the journey of growth has only just begun!
