In 2026, WASCZ Summer School proudly presents two exciting innovation-led camps — the STEM Course and the Design & Technology Course. Designed for curious and creative minds, these programmes combine cutting-edge experiments, real engineering challenges and interdisciplinary project-based learning, allowing students to explore the unknown in the lab, bring ideas to life in the workshop, and truly fall in love with science through hands-on creation.
STEM Course ▼
Here, science is hands-on, exciting, and shared with like-minded young innovators. Join the STEM Course and embark on an unforgettable scientific adventure that sparks curiosity and inspires future discoveries.
Camp Lead
Imtiaz Ahmed
WASCZ Teacher of Physics
Mr Ahmed holds a Master’s degree in Engineering and UK QTS certification, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education (EdD) at Edgewood University in the United States, specialising in innovation in international school STEM education. Experienced in both Pearson Edexcel A Level and Cambridge curricula, he is passionate about inspiring scientific curiosity through inquiry-based learning and hands-on experimentation. As Head of the STEM Course, he will lead students through cutting-edge projects including acoustic visualisation, 3D modelling and mapping, and Arduino programming.
“Through exciting experiments and engineering challenges, we aim to nurture creativity, collaboration and a passion for problem-solving in the next generation of thinkers.”
Highlights
Tailored Learning by Age and Ability
✅️Younger students will explore foundational STEM concepts through fun experiments and interactive challenges, while older students will tackle more advanced topics and deeper scientific enquiry through higher-level projects and critical thinking tasks.
✅️With age-appropriate learning pathways, every student can thrive through engaging scientific challenges designed to match their stage of development.
Cutting-Edge STEM Experiences
✅️3D printing and coding, 3D photogrammetry, virtual reality, octopus dissection, forensic science investigations, liquid nitrogen ice cream making…
✅️In WASCZ’s professional laboratories, students will work with advanced equipment, experience immersive engineering and design processes, and discover how science shapes the real world — all while developing creativity, practical skills and innovative thinking through every experiment.
Interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning
✅️Over the two-week programme, students will take part in interdisciplinary projects spanning physics, chemistry, biology, IT, computer science, engineering design, statistics and mathematics.
✅️Through project-based learning, students will think and work like real scientists — asking questions, conducting experiments, analysing data and drawing conclusions — while strengthening their academic and research skills across multiple disciplines.
English-Immersive Collaboration
✅️In an English-speaking STEM environment, students will collaborate in teams to solve experimental challenges and present their findings in English. Alongside scientific thinking, they will also build leadership, communication and teamwork skills through meaningful collaboration.

Highlights
Where Engineering Meets Design
Blending technology, aesthetics, functionality and creativity, the Design & Technology Course uses automotive engineering as its core theme. Through a “design-led engineering” approach, students will explore key concepts such as internal combustion engines, mechanical structures, engineering thermodynamics and technical drawing. By experiencing the intersection of physics, engineering, mathematics and design, students will develop both technical understanding and aesthetic awareness.
Design and Build Your Own Racing Car
Working in teams, students will complete the full process of creating a racing car — from concept design and construction to testing and optimisation. From sketching ideas and designing logos to selecting colour schemes, building prototypes, conducting aerodynamic and fire-resistance testing, and finally racing their finished creations on race day, students will experience the excitement and achievement of thinking and working like real engineers.
Explore the Future of the Automotive Industry
Throughout the two-week programme, students will gain insight not only into core automotive engineering technologies, but also into the wider world of car design and innovation — from the future of electric vehicles to the branding behind customised models. The course offers an engaging introduction to fields such as mechanical engineering, industrial design and brand development, inspiring future passions within the automotive industry.
