WASCZ proudly announces the remarkable performance of its U15 volleyball teams at the recent ISNAC international tournament in Nanjing. Competing against top international schools, our team showcased exceptional skill, resilience, and sportsmanship, embodying WASCZ’s dedication to sports excellence and holistic education.
The tournament commenced with a closely contested game against the host, the British School of Nanjing (BSN). Our team exhibited commendable effort, narrowly losing the first set 25-20 and the second 25-19.
Facing the formidable Canadian International School Hefei, which ultimately secured second place overall, our athletes displayed remarkable attitude and fighting spirit, with both sets concluding at 25-21.
Ina thrilling contest for fifth place, our team faced Basis International School Nanjing. Despite trailing 9-11 in the decisive third set, the girls demonstrated unwavering determination, rallying to secure a 15-11 victory.
The WASCZ U15 boys volleyball team also delivered an inspiring performance at ISNAC, securing a commendable third-place finish and earning the admiration of spectators and competitors alike.
The day began with a challenging match against the experienced Nanjing International School (NIS). Despite a slow start, the team rallied in the second set with standout serves from J. Yang and P. Dong, showcasing their resilience and determination. Although NIS ultimately prevailed, the boys carried their momentum into the second match against BASIS International School Nanjing (BINJ), securing a decisive victory with a combination of powerful smashes and strategic serves.
The team’s hard work paid off in the third- and fourth-place playoff, where they triumphed over their sister school, WASNJ, claiming the bronze medal. J. Yang was deservedly awarded “MVP(the Most Valuable Player)” for his exceptional performance and leadership on the court.
This tournament not only highlighted the team’s talent but also reinforced WASCZ’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded student-athletes who embody the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Every squad member in all our teams contributed significantly throughout the tournament, embodying the essence of teamwork and collective effort. Their commitment ensured that they left everything on the court, reflecting the core values of WASCZ.
