A world of schools. A world of opportunities.
Introducing the Wycombe Abbey Global Horizon Programme.
From September 2026, every Wycombe Abbey International pupil will be part of the new WAS Global Horizon Programme, connecting our schools in the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Thailand and the UK, with further campuses joining the network in the years ahead.
This programme is designed to make our international network a reality for students.
It means that your child is not only at one school. They are part of a wider Wycombe Abbey family, with opportunities to learn, perform, compete, collaborate and build friendships across campuses and cultures.
What Will Students Experience?
A global education delivered locally, every year, for every pupil.
Each pupil shares at least one cross-campus experience each year, through lessons, projects, trips, sport, drama and music. Older pupils may opt into deeper experiences.
Kindergarten to Year 5 (Grade 4): shared classrooms
Pupils work alongside peers from sister campuses through year-round digital projects on WAS Connect, our network’s collaboration platform. For example: an annual online student art exhibition already co-created by pupils from Buckinghamshire, Hong Kong, Changzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing (with Bangkok to join this year); a future cross-disciplinary study on “Asian Rivers and Cities”; or a live online concert organised across time zones — to name a few.
From Year 6 (Grade 5): visiting moments
Pupils take short trips to sister campuses to study, perform and compete alongside peers from across the network. Each visit is more than a study tour — it is a true immersion in the daily life of another Wycombe Abbey campus, and the start of friendships that cross borders. A drama rehearsal in Bangkok, an ensemble performance in Changzhou, a debate training session in Hong Kong — each can become a defining memory in a child’s growing-up.
From Year 8 (Grade 7): deeper immersions
Pupils may opt into longer stays at another campus, including the option of a term abroad where visa conditions allow — a chance to live, learn and grow as a Wycombe Abbey pupil in another city, another country. Places on these optional experiences are allocated based on academic record and family preferences.
Why Are We Launching This Programme?
Our network is one of our greatest advantages. A Wycombe Abbey pupil is never simply a pupil of one school; they belong to a global family of schools that share the same academic standard, the same humanistic and boarding traditions, and the same philosophy of education. They will learn to listen, express, collaborate and lead across cultures; their classmates will come from different countries, speak different languages, and yet share the same academic foundation and the same humanistic spirit.
The Global Horizon Programme turns that footprint into a lived, daily experience. We want every pupil to grow up confident across cultures, prepared for universities, careers and lives that will be unmistakably international.
Flagship Events Across the WAS Family
Cross-campus events are already an important part of school life. Last month, the 3rd Wycombe Abbey Schools Speech Festival in Hong Kong brought together students from Hangzhou, Nanjing and Changzhou to perform, exchange ideas and build friendships.
Our annual art exhibitions, music events, competitions and shared projects have also shown how much students gain from working with peers across the wider Wycombe Abbey community.
The Global Horizon Programme will now give these opportunities a clearer structure and a stronger annual rhythm.
Planned flagship opportunities include:
WAS International Games and Festival
Hosted in turn by each campus, the Games and Festival bring pupils together for competitive sport, music, art, debating and STEM. The inaugural edition is planned at our Bangkok campus in April 2027.
For pupils, this is the Olympics of the Wycombe Abbey family — a stage where they perform, compete and express themselves alongside peers from every corner of the network. For families, it is a chance to see, first-hand, the world-class education a Wycombe Abbey pupil grows up in.
Global Holiday Campuses
Summer and seasonal camps — including this year’s summer programme — run in parallel across Changzhou, Hong Kong, Hangzhou, Bangkok and UK Buckinghamshire campuses, covering languages, arts, sport, academics and outdoor exploration. Further details will be shared through the Family App and school communications.
Looking ahead
At Wycombe Abbey International, we want students to grow into confident, thoughtful and capable young people with a strong sense of who they are and a broad understanding of the world around them. The WAS Global Horizon Programme is an important next step in that journey.
“The Global Horizon Programme makes the Wycombe Abbey network real: real friendships, real experiences, real confidence, and real preparation for the world beyond school.”
